Hello

This is my first attempt at blogging, so I suspect it's going to be pretty uneven. I'm experimenting with the process so bear with me.

While I now live in Illinois (Chicago has a gorgeous skyline!) and have lived in the Midwest for most of the past 30 years, I grew up in the Hudson Valley part of New York State (Middletown & Newburgh areas). It's a beautiful part of the country and I had a pretty great time there. For those of you who haven't visited New York State outside New York City, the entire state is not paved! There are lots of mountains, rivers, and forests.

Having spent so much time in the Midwest, I have grown fond of the Central Time Zone and can't remember how I dealt with the Eastern Time Zone....
My family lived in Iowa for about seven years and that's where two of our three kids were born. It's a great place to live (very underrated) and I somehow consider myself an Iowan, despite the relatively short time we lived there.

Yes, that's my 1968 Mustang Convertible at the top of the page! It's older than my oldest kid.... I had a '66 Mustang Convertible when I was in college and got rid of it after getting married...yeah, needed a "family car," but I'm too embarrassed to say what replaced the Mustang. Anyway, I've wanted another Pony ever since then. In mid 2000, I bought a '65 red coupe and had a good time with that. A couple years later, I had the opportunity to get the convertible from a family member's estate. I'm the second owner and the first owner took good care of the car. I just had it painted and the top replaced. The paint color is very close to the original color. It needs to have the seats recovered and things like that, but I'm in no hurry. I don't want to "restore" the car to "show quality" because then I couldn't drive it. And that's what I like to do; drive it!
